13 Jun 2018  |   Durban Film Office: Development Fund and Micro Budget Film Programme - Call Out for Submissions

Submissions are now open for the 2018/2019 eThekwini Municipality’s Durban Film Office’s Development Fund and Micro Budget Programme.

The Development Fund Programme aims to support intermediate and experienced producers based in Durban who need to develop feature fiction or documentary projects for the local and / or international markets. The programme provides grant funding for two Durban film projects per annum, to a maximum of R250 000 (Two hundred and Fifty thousand Rand) per project towards its development.

The Micro-budget Film Programme aims to support local emerging filmmakers and encourage the production of content in order to stimulate the local film industry. The programme seeks to develop a local model and brand of low budget film-making that is cost-effective, practical and commercially viable. The Micro-budget Film Programme offers R150 000 (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Rand) for Production of a feature length film. The programme specifically targets emerging filmmakers with fiction feature projects, and runs for a period of 12 months with an aim of producing four micro budget films.
